ActShakspere

Shakespearean Monologs
for Actors & Student Actors
120 monologues:
60 female / 60 male

Taken from the plays of Shakespeare and presented for Actors, Actresses and Drama Teachers as a reference for professional and semi-professional auditions and try-outs.

ActShakspere is the perfect companion for Actors of any caliber.

It provides 120 Shakespearean monologues for professional, semi-professional, and student actors. Sixty of the monologues are for male actors and 60 are for female actors (“actresses”).

The monologs range from dramatic to comic to philosophic. The monologs are useful for completing assignments in acting classes and for use during auditions for roles in plays or auditions for admission to acting programs in colleges and universities or for acceptance into seasonal or permanent professional theatrical companies.

Each monolog is categorized and able to be filtered and grouped by:

* Type - dramatic, comic, philosophic
* Play
* Character
* Gender

Each monolog also contains:

* Act & Scene in which the monolog occurs.
* Estimated time to speak the full monolog during auditions.
* Tag Line - the commonly known section of the monolog.
* Setting of the scene to help create the actors mood.

Pinch-to-zoom the text when reading the tag lines, settings or monologs for easier reading.

Most drama teachers, it seems to me, would want to have 120 Shakespearean monologs in a convenient app on their smart phones.

It will save performers much time leafing through various Shakespearean plays searching for just the right thing. And when you are not sure exactly what you would like to perform; have ActShakspere randomly select a monolog for you, from the filtered display set.

The actual length of each monolog will depend on the delivery style of the actor performing it; however, each one has an estimated time for delivery. The intent is to provide monologs that time out at between 1 and 2 minutes. That is usually the time required for individual monologs in auditions at all levels.

Monologs will be added with future updates, and with increased interest.
